Seeking a Quality Control Lead (QCL – Marine & Mooring) to join the Supply Chain Excellence team. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity, quality, and compliance of Marine and Mooring equipment across major offshore projects.
The QC Lead will collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Projects, Technical Authorities, and Engineering to uphold high standards, drive consistency, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Quality Leadership
  • Ensure robust quality control across Marine & Mooring supplier packages.
  • Develop tools, processes, and templates for effective inspection management.
  • Oversee third‑party inspectors and manage critical inspection points during fabrication.
  • Validate system, documentation, and quality requirements for all assigned scopes.
  • Conduct supplier qualification audits and performance assessments.
  • Review and standardize Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Review and validate all technical inspection documentation.
  • Lead technical investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive actions.
Continuous Improvement & Transformation
  • Champion quality improvements for qualification, performance, and risk management.
  • Lead improvement workshops with strategic suppliers in line with category strategy.
  • Identify gaps in processes and drive enhancements to improve efficiency.
  • Lead transformation initiatives for quality excellence across global teams.
  • Monitor effectiveness of improvement actions and report results clearly.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Actively engage internal/external stakeholders and provide timely updates.
  • Drive communication strategies for quality transformation projects.
  • Advocate strong quality culture through continuous engagement and leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with peers and the Supply Chain QC Manager to support team vision.
Governance & Compliance
  • Apply extensive knowledge of industry specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Ensure compliance and integrity for Hull, Mooring, and Marine equipment.
  • Ensure alignment with company policies, safety requirements, and QHSE standards.
  • Stay updated on new technologies, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Capture and disseminate lessons learned across global projects.
Education
  • Engineering degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or related discipline.
Experience & Technical Background
  • Minimum 8 years in engineering, supply chain, vendor inspection, or quality roles.
  • Strong knowledge of welding, materials selection, corrosion mitigation, and monitoring.
  • Qualified Lead Auditor (ISO 9001).
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and structured QMS frameworks.
  • Subject Matter Expertise in one technical discipline plus hands‑on experience in at least two of the following Marine & Mooring scopes (with willingness to develop the third):
Marine Scopes
  • Cranes & lifting equipment
  • Davits, hoists & lifting accessories
  • Life-saving & safety systems
  • Hull interface components (coatings, corrosion protection, welded assemblies)
  • Offshore hoses (floating/submarine)
  • Rigging & handling systems
  • Marine outfitting (elevators, powered trolleys, spreaders)
Mooring Scopes
  • Anchor chains, connectors & shackles
  • Polyester deepwater mooring ropes
  • Spring buoys
  • Turret & mooring systems (swivels, bearings, connectors)
  • Load monitoring & tensioning systems
Skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead quality improvements and transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, RCA, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent planning, ownership, and organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex technical data.
  • Ability to produce objective, fact-based reports meeting internal and client requirements.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes for Marine & Mooring equipment.
Other Requirements
  • Fluent in English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally on a frequent basis.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic project environment.
