Research Scientist – Biokinetics | Drive Innovation in Crop Protection

As a Research Scientist in Biokinetics, you will play a pivotal role within our clients Bioperformance group, investigating the Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, and Elimination (ADME) of active ingredients in plants. Your work will directly impact the development and market support of novel agrochemicals, helping to improve crop selectivity, resistance, and field performance.
 
This initial two-year position (highly likely to be extended), based at Jealott’s Hill International Research Centre, offers the chance to deliver high-quality research through a blend of laboratory and glasshouse assays, alongside advanced analytical techniques.
 
Required Skills
  • At least 2 years of laboratory research experience in a professional or academic setting
  • Degree holder (BSc required) in Biological Sciences, Plant Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Soil Science
  • Strong skills in designing, planning, executing, and analysing experiments independently
  • Proficiency in scientific writing and verbal communication in English
  • Ability to follow research plans, meet project deadlines, and comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal abilities
Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience in Pharmacology, Agronomy, Crop Protection, or Analytical Chemistry
  • Familiarity with ADME studies and LC-MS analysis of small molecules
  • Expertise in handling large data sets, including data storage, reporting, analysis, and visualization
  • Knowledge of plant physiology or crop health, particularly plant responses to biotic or abiotic stressors
  • Background working with soil or seed samples
Preferred Education and Experience
  • MSc degree in a relevant field is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in plant science research environments or related disciplines
