NES Fircroft are delighted to be partnering with a major Oil and Gas operator who are looking to add a Rigsite Safety Advisor to their team working on an Offshore development in Suriname.

This role will be a contract-based position working a 28/28 rotation Offshore for an initial 12 month contract with excellent potential to extend beyond.

Service Description

Rig Site Safety Advisor (RSA) is based at the rig to advise and assist the RSES (Responsible for Safety and Environment on Site) to fulfil rig-site HSE responsibilities—without replacing or taking over the RSES responsibilities.
1. RSA is reporting directly to the project Drilling Supervisor on board – and functionally to the OSEL
2. Spends over 75% of their time “outside” to drive a strong HSE culture on the rig.
3. Works as a pair with Operational Safety Leader (OSL).
4. Applies the requirements of the HSE Management System and safety initiatives on the rigs.

Attributes of the role
· Focal point for HSE on the rigs.
· HSE advisor and coach to RSES
The service holder reports within the Performance and Methods team on the client development (Drilling and Wells package).

Responsibilities
· Actively participate in the daily operational meetings – on rig (day & night) and with onshore team.
· Implement rig-site safety induction practices as per GM-OT-DW-200
· Identify hazards and control risks - to be ALARP in SIMOPS, DGS, and Management of Change (MOC) situations by
directly contributing to discussions and updating rig instructions.
· Attend and contribute to ToolBox Talks (TBT or Job Risk Assessments), kick-off meetings, pre-spud meetings, pretour meetings, and weekly HSE meetings.
· Supports the RSES on site, coach and advise the rig team.
· Responsible for HSE investigation (CTA) and the issuance of the draft report.
· Organize hazard hunts for dropped objects, hand injuries, PTW, lifting & moonpool activities, Life Saving Checks.
· Prepare field-based (REX) documentation on HSE related matters.
· Organize internal/external periodic HSE audits (e.g. PTW), technical reviews, and HSE Tours with rig contractor.
· Responsible for HSE improvements and implementation of corrective actions from observations, reviews, audits
and investigations.
· Participate and review Risk Assessments (TBT or JRA), Permit to Work (PTW) and high-risk activities like lifting &
rigging, scaffolding, powered equipment, confined space, lone workers, work at height, line of fire situations, and hot works.
· Systematically checks rig contractor’s compliance with the HSE Management System and Bridging Document.
· Prepare Rig Move Verification document in compliance with rig move guidelines and marine operation rules as per GM OT OPP 850.
· Assist RSES with the application of the SIMOPS and HSE Bridging Documents requirements.
· Apply the requirements of the Chemical Management Plan as per GM EP ENV 053 and COSHH regulations.
· Update HSE KPIs in WellView daily and prepare HSE derogations.
· Monitor and report HSE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in Synergi and Wellview.
· Maintain visible HSE dashboards on the rigs.
· Maintain an auditable record of training compliance (company, rig & service contractor personnel), Downgraded Situations, Non-Conformities, Initiatives, and status of Corrective Actions from audits, HSE tours and CTAs.
· Ensure that the Contractor’s Safety Advisor is aware of incident notifications requirements and ensure closure of corrective actions.

Other tasks
· Plan scenario-based rescue operations for personnel at height, -in confined spaces, and -at sea.
· Plan drills for H2S, MEDEVAC / MEDERESCUE Plan, BOCP (Blow Out Contingency Plan), Chemical Management Plan (CMP), and OSCP (Oil Spill Contingency Plan).
· Review Observations Cards to identify effective behavior by reinforcing good practices and changing weak ones.
· Present awards for best safety observations
· Implement HSE initiatives like new 12GR, Well Sentinel, Shadows, Safety Alerts, Safety Green Light, and Our Lives First.
· Proficiency in the use of Microsoft suite of software tools.

- Start date: June 2026
- Duration: Initial 12 month Work Order with potential for extension up to 3 years

Qualifications and experience required
- Professional Experience (years): +15 years in upstream Oil & Gas industry.
- Experience in similar position (years): +10 years in similar position
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and an HSSE certification.
- Languages: English mandatory. French or any other language are a plus.
