Title: Safety Coordinator (Health & Safety/Disability Management)
Location: Houston, TX, 77002
Contract Duration: 12 months

Pay Rate: $49/hr Position Overview
Reporting to the Lead, Disability Management, this position will be primarily responsible for supporting the ongoing delivery, development and enhancement of the Health Services program. This involves implementing the approved health initiatives to fulfill the corporate and departmental commitments as well as maintaining compliance with OH&S and any other applicable legislation.

This position will require the candidate to leverage their training and expertise in health, and wellbeing broadly, and Disability Management specifically, and be a results-oriented team player keen to make an impact in their role, dedicated to ensuring our employees are always working in supportive, safe and healthy environments.

Responsible for supporting and executing the company’s integrated disability management, wellbeing programs as outlined below:

Return to Work
  • Provides subject matter expertise regarding return-to-work determinations and medical assessments.
  • Responsible for ensuring return to work expectations through program development and continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaboration with our medical management partners, internally and externally Disability Management.
  • Provides subject matter expertise for occupational and non-occupational illness/injury management.
  • Responsible for the case management of our return-to-work referrals Wellbeing.
  • Delivers customized health promotions and education.
  • Assists in the development of strategies to address health risks.
  • Develop employee communications to promote awareness and increase participation in wellbeing programs.

Key Responsibilities
Liaison with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the organization toward innovative, effective strategies for promoting work attendance management and a culture of continuous improvement
  • Work closely with management to ensure all Health and Safety as well as Human Resources policies and procedures are adhered to as required by legislation.
  • Ensures all Health Services programs remain current with changing requirements, best practices and regulations.
  • Contributes to the development and reporting of key performance indicators or other applicable metrics.
  • Actively promotes and collaborates with key stakeholders in the communication and delivery of Health Services programs/services.
  • Provide occupational Health Services support in emergency response situations as required
Requirements
  • University Degree in relevant discipline.
  • 10 years plus experience.
