Position Overview We are looking for an experienced Safety Engineer to support several major industrial projects across the Energy, Oil & Gas, LNG, Power and Energy Transition sectors.
The engineer will join a dedicated HSE Design (HSED) team, working closely with multiple engineering disciplines such as Process, Piping, Civil and Instrumentation.

Main Responsibilities As part of the Safety Engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality safety studies and ensuring safe design principles across facilities.

Key tasks include:

  • Identification and qualification of Major Accident Events
  • Definition and implementation of prevention, mitigation and protection measures
  • Contribution to safe plant design for personnel, environment and assets
Safety Engineering Activities
  • Preliminary Risk Analysis
  • Participation in safety reviews: HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA
  • Plot plan reviews and 3D model reviews
  • Identification of Safety Critical Elements (SCEs) and criticality rating
  • Hazardous Area Classification
  • Passive fire protection
  • Cold spill protection
  • Active fire‑protection studies (firewater pumps, network design, deluge systems, hydraulic calculations)
  • Flammable gas, toxic gas and fire detection
  • Personnel protection
  • Escape, Evacuation & Rescue (EER) studies
  • Technical specifications, requisitions, TBE, and vendor follow‑up
Note: Quantitative analyses such as QRA, FERA, EERA, ESSA, RAM, and Environment / Noise & Vibration are not included in the scope.

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Master’s degree in Engineering (Safety, Process or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Safety Engineering within Oil & Gas, petrochemicals, mining or Energy Transition
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Hazardous Area Classification
    • Detection systems
    • Active & Passive Fire Protection
    • Personnel Protection & EER
  • Solid understanding of international standards: NFPA, API, IP Codes, EN1473
  • Strong technical judgment and design optimization skills
  • English proficiency required
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal skills, autonomy and rigor
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat)

  • Project documents and international standards
  • Technical documents from previous project phases
Deliverables & Expectations
  • High‑quality, accurate and well‑structured safety deliverables
  • Full traceability (sources, comments, revisions)
  • Documents issued in clear and correct English
  • Respect of project schedule and constraints
  • Ability to review or supervise other engineers (for senior profiles)
