Our Client Woodside a Global Energy Operator in Perth CBD are currently seeking a Senior Contracts Adviser – Corporate Services to join them for a 12-month contract.
The Senior Contracts Adviser – Corporate Services is responsible for independently managing low‑to‑medium risk contracts across Woodside’s Corporate Services Contracting Category, delivering value‑accretive outcomes across the full contracting lifecycle. Operating with moderate autonomy, the role applies sound commercial judgment within approved governance frameworks and in accordance with the Woodside Management System (Our WMS), the Pre‑Award and Post‑Award Guidelines, and associated Work Instructions.
This position supports a broad and dynamic Corporate Services stakeholder group that includes Marketing, Trading & Shipping; Sustainability & Climate & Energy Policy; Corporate Affairs; Legal; Human Resources; and Finance. The portfolio includes service‑based, advisory, consultancy and support contracts that directly enable core corporate functions and strategic business priorities. This diversity offers advisers exposure to varied commercial challenges, frequent stakeholder engagement and the ability to develop strong end‑to‑end contracting capability.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Deliver end‑to‑end contracting activities across multiple Corporate Services portfolios, balancing pre‑award and post‑award responsibilities
  • Apply commercial judgment to sourcing, negotiation, execution and contract management activities
  • Ensure governance, probity and ethical standards are consistently applied across all contracting activities
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with Corporate Services stakeholders and suppliers
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, value optimisation and proactive risk management
  • Support Woodside’s broader corporate objectives by enabling timely and effective delivery of critical services
Pre‑Award Activities will include:
  • Plan and execute sourcing activities for low‑to‑medium risk Corporate Services contracts aligned to business plans and category strategies
  • Develop and execute sourcing plans, including scope, commercial structure, risk considerations (including HSE), timelines and endorsement pathways
  • Prepare and issue Request to market (RFx) documentation, facilitating prequalification and managing confidentiality and probity requirements
  • Coordinate and document tender evaluation processes, including evaluation criteria, panel facilitation and recommendation papers
  • Lead negotiations and contract execution for standard Corporate Services engagements within delegated authority
  • Ensure alignment between category strategy, contracting strategy and supplier relationship management principles
  • Manage a mix of new sourcing events, renewals, extensions and re‑tenders that reflect the dynamic nature of Corporate Services contracting
 

Post‑Award Activities will include:
  • Lead contract operationalisation and handover activities, ensuring clarity of roles, obligations and deliverables
  • Support and guide Company Representatives in interpreting and executing contractual obligations
  • Manage routine contract amendments, variations, extensions and claims from initiation through to approval
  • Monitor contract spend, ceilings and commercial exposure, including spend insights where required to support post‑award contract management
  • Manage supplier performance against KPIs, deliverables and service levels, facilitating issue resolution as required
  • Lead contract close‑out processes and capture lessons learned to inform future sourcing and category decisions
  • Maintain effective supplier relationships across advisory, consultancy and corporate support service providers

The successful candidate will be able to display:
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Law, Supply Chain or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Demonstrated experience managing contracts across the contracting lifecycle
  • Ability to operate independently within a governed and regulated environment
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and commercial capability
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills, including record management and reporting
  • Ability to draft, review and manage contracting documentation (sourcing plans, evaluation documents, approval forms, variation requests)
  • Analytical and commercial acumen, with an ability to identify value opportunities
  • Proficiency in contract management systems and standard business software
  • Commitment to delivering outcomes related to schedule, cost, quality and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated ethical conduct, accountability and adaptability
