About the Role
As the Senior Cost Controller, you will be responsible for implementing and managing cost control systems, reporting frameworks, and forecasting processes across major capital projects. You’ll provide critical cost insights, ensure compliance with project controls methodologies, and support the development of junior controllers within the team.

As the Senior Cost Controller, you will be responsible for implementing and managing cost control systems, reporting frameworks, and forecasting processes across major capital projects. You’ll provide critical cost insights, ensure compliance with project controls methodologies, and support the development of junior controllers within the team.

- Medium to large capital projects
- Lead cost management processes including budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, and performance analysis.
- Prepare consistent and accurate monthly cost and progress reports for project leadership.
- Review invoices, validate progress claims, prepare accruals, and allocate costs against WBS and cost centres.
- Support procurement and contracts teams with payment certificates, POs, and cost system setup.
- Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) to measure progress and identify performance trends.
- Monitor and reconcile cost management systems to ensure data accuracy across platforms.
- Drive the use of project change management processes and support capital planning cycles.
- Mentor and guide junior cost controllers within the team.
- Experience in project controls, ideally within engineering, construction, resources, or renewable energy sectors.
- Proven experience managing cost control on medium to large capital projects.
- Strong understanding of project controls principles, cost forecasting, progress measurement, and reporting.
- High proficiency in Excel and major cost control/finance systems.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work with diverse project and commercial stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Commerce, Finance, or equivalent.
