An opportunity has become available for a Senior Hydrogeologist to join a major mining operation supporting technical services and operational water management. This position will provide technical leadership across groundwater and surface water management, ensuring effective water governance, pit dewatering strategy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Reporting to the Superintendent Technical Services, the role plays a key part in managing mine water systems, supporting operational planning, and ensuring water inventory and dewatering processes enable consistent ore delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead mine water management strategy including water balance modelling, water inventory and dewatering forecasts
- Provide technical oversight of groundwater and surface water investigations and hydrological modelling
- Support the design and governance of operational water management systems and infrastructure
- Manage water supply risks and ensure regulatory compliance across operational activities
- Work closely with mining, planning, environment and technical services teams to support operational outcomes
- Contribute to wet season preparedness and long-term water management planning
- 4/3 roster
- Point of hire from Cairns or Darwin
- Paid relocation support available
- Charter flights to site
