Senior Structural Topsides Designer– Oil & Gas Projects (Netherlands)

NES Fircroft is recruiting a Senior Structural Topsides Designer for our client. They are a leader in floating technologies for the oil and gas industry, and the office is in Rotterdam, Netherlands. 12-month contract with possibility of extension.

Purpose

  • The Senior Structural Designer's purpose is to design solutions that achieve high standards of safety, reliability, and sustainability, thereby contributing to the projects and the organization's strategic objectives and long-term success.
Responsibilities:
  • You are responsible for the selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and execution of the design within the scope of the specifications, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards and regulations.
  • You utilize technical knowledge and software tools to clearly depict the design that can be easily and correctly interpreted by others.
  • You collaborate with Engineers, other Designers and Lead Designer to proactively share information, ensure design intent is understood, and resolve design conflicts.
  • You are responsible for proactively planning and completing activities and deliverables within agreed time frame, as well as for ensuring system interfaces.
  • You escalate unresolved issues to the Lead Designer/Engineer to minimize delays in deliverables, understanding how assigned tasks fit within the project schedule and affect other stakeholders in meeting deadlines.
  • You ensure applicable lessons learnt are used, understanding the change impact within and across project system boundaries.
  • You collaborate with Package Engineers to ensure timely review of vendor documents and that comments are made with the required quality level.
  • You start leading designers on assigned scope of work.
  • You may act as Lead Designer for assigned scope of work.

Education and Required Experience: 

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Design, or related field
  • 5 to 10 years in Oil & Gas Industry
  • Engineering design and calculation tools
  • Plant Layout - FPSO Layout Design
