Shutdown Coordinator - Contract Opportunity (PNG)
We are currently seeking an experienced Shutdown Coordinator with a strong Electrical background to support a major mining operation in Papua New Guinea for an upcoming shutdown campaign later this year. This is a key leadership role, and we are looking to engage candidates who can make themselves available for an upcoming mobilisation window.
About the Role Reporting to the Shutdown Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all electrical shutdown activities across site. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage multiple work fronts, liaise with contractors, and drive safe and efficient outcomes in a high-pressure environment.

About the Role Reporting to the Shutdown Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all electrical shutdown activities across site. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise electrical shutdown activities across multiple work areas
- Ensure all works are executed in line with safety, quality, and compliance standards
- Work closely with planners, supervisors, and contractors to ensure readiness and execution
- Manage daily shutdown progress, reporting, and issue resolution
- Oversee isolation procedures, permit systems, and switching activities
- Drive continuous improvement and ensure lessons learned are captured post-shutdown
- Proven experience as a Shutdown Coordinator / Supervisor within mining or heavy industry
- Strong electrical background (trade or engineering)
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale shutdowns or outages
- Solid understanding of isolation procedures, HV/LV systems, and permit to work systems
- Ability to lead teams, manage contractors, and work under tight timeframes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Able to commit to upcoming shutdown works and mobilise within required timeframes
