We are currently seeking an experienced Shutdown Supervisor with a strong Mechanical background to support a major mining operation in Papua New Guinea for an upcoming shutdown campaign later this year. This is a key leadership role, and we are looking to engage candidates who can make themselves available for an upcoming mobilisation window.
About the Role Reporting to the Shutdown Superintendent, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising all mechanical shutdown activities across site. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage multiple work fronts, liaise with contractors, and ensure safe, efficient delivery in a high-pressure shutdown environment.

About the Role Reporting to the Shutdown Superintendent, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising all mechanical shutdown activities across site. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise mechanical shutdown activities across multiple work areas
- Ensure all works are executed in line with safety, quality, and compliance standards
- Coordinate closely with planners, supervisors, and contractors for shutdown readiness
- Monitor daily progress, manage issues, and report on shutdown performance
- Oversee isolation procedures, permits, and execution of mechanical works
- Drive continuous improvement and capture lessons learned post-shutdown
- Proven experience as a Shutdown Supervisor / Coordinator (Mechanical) within mining or heavy industry
- Strong mechanical trade or engineering background
- Experience delivering large-scale shutdowns or outages
- Solid understanding of mechanical maintenance, isolations, and permit systems
- Ability to lead teams, manage contractors, and work under tight timeframes
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Able to commit to upcoming shutdown works and mobilise within required timeframes
