Job Description:
The Sustainability Specialist supports the transparent, accurate, and timely reporting of sustainability risks, opportunities, and performance metrics to stakeholders, including investors, regulators, and the public.
Key Responsibilities (amongst others) will include: (1) collation of information on sustainability and climate-related risk and opportunities aligned with relevant legislation, frameworks and standards to support disclosures. (2) drafting, updating and maintaining content for internal and external communications on sustainability programs such as content for sustainability website, and internal communication platforms. (3) Track and close-out of comments in draft disclosures. (4) Undertake research projects and benchmarking analysis as needed on sustainability-related topics and themes.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Finance, Economics, Earth Sciences or related field.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office suite.
• 2 + years of experience in corporate sustainability in a multi-national organization, with a focus on sustainability disclosure practices and corporate sustainability strategies, use of corporate data management systems to benchmark and synthesize data and communicate trends and insights from corporate sustainability sources.
• Proficient in the following sustainability topics: greenhouse gas emissions, climate-related risks and opportunities, human rights, social capital, environmental stewardship, health and safety and the NGO landscape.
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues to different non-technical audiences.
• Proficient knowledge, understanding and experience of the application of some or all of the sustainability reporting frameworks, standards and guidelines, including the SASB, ISSB, GRI, TCFD, CSRD, TNFD and Ipieca.
