Job Purpose (high level overview) We are seeking a highly skilled Test and Authentication Engineer to join our team in the heavy engineering and maritime sector. The role focuses on ensuring that mechanical, electrical, and system components meet strict performance, safety, and regulatory standards. You will be responsible for developing, executing, and documenting comprehensive test plans, performing system authentication, and supporting commissioning activities for maritime vessels and heavy industrial equipment. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities Plan, develop, and execute testing protocols for mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems of maritime vessels or heavy machinery.
Conduct system authentication to ensure compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
Collaborate with design, production, and quality assurance teams to verify and validate system performance before commissioning.
Perform troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root-cause investigations on non-conforming systems.
Prepare detailed test reports, certificates, and documentation to support regulatory inspections and project requirements.
Ensure compliance with international maritime standards (IMO, DNV, ABS, etc.) and local regulations.
Support commissioning, integration, and acceptance testing activities both in-house and on-site.
Assist in continuous improvement initiatives for testing procedures, tools, and documentation practices.
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance during all testing activities
  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proven experience in testing, validation, or authentication of heavy engineering or maritime systems.
Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO, DNV, ABS, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
Experience in troubleshooting complex systems and performing root cause analysis.
Proficiency in test instrumentation, data acquisition, and reporting software.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to liaise with clients and regulatory authorities.

Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Marine, or Naval Engineering (or equivalent).
Typically requires an undergraduate degree and broad experience or equivalent.

Working Environment Standard Office Environment. May be required to travel and/or have overnight trips.  Hours worked may exceed regular schedule.

Physical Effort Little chance of injury. Duties may involve sitting, standing, keyboarding with frequent flexible breaks.
