The Client's Challenge
Our client was commissioned on an offshore project but did not have a locally registered entity. In addition to the complexities of operating as a non-registered entity in Guyana, their subsea and support teams needed landing permits, local work authorizations, and compliance with employment tax regulations. To meet project demands, they enlisted our Employer of Record (EOR) services to compliantly operate in Guyana and fast-track hiring approvals within 30 days.
Our Solution
NES Fircroft has been a leading staffing provider for Caribbean energy projects for over 13 years and was selected as their exclusive Employer of Record. From our registered office in Guyana we delivered a seamless secondment of our client’s employees through our EOR and global mobilization solution. Through the process we:
- Facilitated the compliance and secondment agreements approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
- Managed immigration approvals, which were secured within just 14 days (well ahead of the 30-day deadline).
- Delivered mobilization support, including permit-to-land and 3-year work visas for 8 contractors originally based in South Africa and Mauritius.
- Mobilized a range of subsea specialists, including boat skippers, dive technicians, dive supervisors, shore-based coordinators and medical technicians.
- Supported job titles including: Driving Supervisors, Driving Technicians, Medical Technicians, and Boat Skippers
The Results
Our established presence in Guyana enabled a seamless EOR transition in half the required time. NES Fircroft retained exclusive supplier status with our client and continues to scale their workforce, which has now doubled to 15+ contractors. This includes fully compliant global mobility support, such as securing work permits and providing timely payroll services on behalf of their employees.
