Project Overview
Alaska contains some of the most resource‑rich gold deposits in North America, with major development underway in remote regions that require significant infrastructure and long‑term planning. The state is entering a new phase of growth driven by large‑scale gold projects that aim to modernize isolated sites, expand future production capacity, and build long‑term operational resilience across Alaska’s mining landscape.
Key focus areas include:
- Mine development and expansion
- Support for critical minerals production to meet domestic and global demand
Project Mission
This project is in the historic Kuskokwim Gold Belt of Southwest Alaska, 10 miles north of Crooked Creek village, with the closest community being Bethel. The mission is to support the development of one of Alaska’s largest and most strategically significant gold mine projects by strengthening workforce capability, enhancing operational readiness, and ensuring safe, sustainable production in a remote environment.
The project is expected to operate as a conventional open pit, truck‑and‑shovel mine with a 27‑year life. Mining production is anticipated to occur over 24 of those years, with peak production rates projected to reach 195 million tonnes per year.
With operational planning, the project’s development includes building long-term employment pathways, supporting nearby communities, and contributing to the economic stability of the region as the project advances toward full development.
