Background

The client is one of the world’s largest renewable energy fund managers. We had previously collaborated with the client in Taiwan on an offshore wind development, during which we demonstrated the strength of NES Fircroft's compliance processes and our ability to support business expansion. Building on this partnership, we have been operating under an exclusive agreement for 12 months.

The Challenge

The client had recently entered the Philippines after securing the country’s first one gigawatt offshore wind project - both the largest and the first development of its kind nationally. Offshore wind is an emerging sector involving foreign investment, meaning the client is committed to ensuring world class project execution from the outset. Establishing the right on the ground support was therefore critical.

New to the Philippine’s market and without a talent acquisition function, the client required immediate access to local talent and market knowledge. They needed a fully integrated, compliant, end to end recruitment solution to successfully establish and growth their offshore wind operations.

Our Solution

NES Fircroft was strongly positioned to support our client, with our NESF Philippines entity providing a robust local presence and a clear competitive advantage. Our on the ground team has deep market understanding, direct access to local talent, and the capability to manage mobilisation efficiently. Our operating model is designed to drive project success by aligning closely with the client’s programme and ensuring comprehensive support across all phases from acquisition through to commissioning.

Key elements of our support include:

Our team undertook a full review of the client's project schedule and core processes, including acquisition, design, EPC, and commissioning, and proposed a plan tailored to their operational requirements.

We have successfully delivered eight placements to support the design stage of the project.

The client greatly values our local recruitment team, who engage directly with in country candidates and manage the full candidate relationship.

Our assignment support team oversees mobilisation and ensures candidates transition smoothly into their roles, minimising disruption and accelerating project readiness.

We provide a fully integrated service offering that includes contract staffing, referred candidates, and permanent recruitment.

Our services extend across the entire mobilisation lifecycle, including travel coordination, onboarding, and the complete recruitment process. Our assignment support team has successfully managed mobilisation for candidates travelling from the Philippines to Taiwan for business requirements, as well as domestic mobilisation within the Philippines for those engaged on the San Miguel Offshore Wind Project.

The Results

The client was so confident in our ability to deliver that they signed up to an exclusive agreement. We have now delivered several critical placements to support the pre construction phase of the project, and we have a strong pipeline of candidates in the final stages to resource the upcoming construction phase. By leveraging our local knowledge, market experience and network connections, the client has been able to move forward with their project at pace, with the assurance that all paperwork is dealt with efficiently and compliantly.

This success has generated additional opportunities; we are finalising terms with their affiliated entity to support all onshore wind project requirements too
