Senior Procurement Specialist – Major Overhaul 2027 (CCGT Power Plant)

About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to support the preparation and execution of a major overhaul (Turnaround) for a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant located in Marchienne-au-Pont, Belgium.
The overhaul is planned for Summer 2027 and represents a critical milestone for the site. Preparation activities must begin well in advance while the plant remains fully operational, requiring close coordination with maintenance, engineering, projects, and operations teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all procurement and contracting activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Working under the supervision of the Site Purchasing Manager and in close collaboration with the Shutdown Manager and the dedicated turnaround team, you will be responsible for managing complex procurement packages, supplier relationships, and contractual strategies that contribute directly to the success of this high-profile project.

Key Responsibilities Procurement & Contract Management
- Define sourcing requirements independently in collaboration with technical stakeholders.
- Prepare and manage tendering processes for maintenance, shutdown, and project-related services.
- Lead commercial evaluations, supplier negotiations, and contract award recommendations.
- Draft, negotiate, implement, and administer service contracts.
- Create and manage purchase orders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Support the overall preparation and execution of the 2027 Major Overhaul.
- Monitor the progress of turnaround preparation activities and report on key milestones.
- Participate in on-site progress review meetings with project and maintenance teams.
- Assist the Shutdown Manager and team in evaluating feasibility studies and opportunity projects.
- Coordinate procurement activities to ensure timely delivery of critical services and materials.
- Conduct market intelligence, cost analyses, benchmarking, and supplier assessments.
- Develop, manage, and qualify a robust supplier panel, including incumbent contractors.
- Identify contractual and commercial opportunities through existing framework agreements.
- Manage supplier performance, disputes, claims, and commercial risk mitigation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proven experience in Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Contract Management within industrial environments.
- Previous involvement in power generation, energy, oil & gas, petrochemical, heavy industry, or large-scale maintenance turnarounds.
- Strong experience managing tenders, negotiations, service contracts, and supplier relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to work in complex, multidisciplinary project environments.
- Experience supporting shutdowns, turnarounds, major maintenance campaigns, or capital projects is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical and commercial skills, including cost analysis and benchmarking.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Fluent in English; French is considered a strong asset.
