Our Global Analytical Research & Technology (ART) group is seeking a skilled Analytical Research & Technology Technician to join the team at our Client’s Technical Center near Kings Mountain, North Carolina. In this role, you will work alongside a highly motivated and collaborative group of experts who are passionate about making a positive global impact. Key responsibilities include preparing materials for characterization and operating a broad range of advanced analytical instrumentation. You will apply your expertise to select or develop appropriate analytical techniques and accurately interpret experimental data. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized laboratory environment by following standard operating procedures and complying with all corporate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) policies.
  • Perform sampling and testing of materials, including sample collection, preparation, and analysis using techniques such as ICP-OES, Ion Chromatography, particle size distribution (PSD), titration, BET, and TGA to evaluate material composition and quality.
  • Support the development, optimization, and validation of analytical methods to meet evolving materials characterization and project needs.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional technical team to achieve time-bound technical milestones and project deliverables.
  • Effectively communicate analytical and characterization results to materials development and research teams.
  • Accurately document experiments, method details, observations, and results in both written reports and electronic data systems.
  • Implement and follow safe procedures for the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
  • Ensure analytical instruments are properly calibrated, maintained, and operated to deliver accurate and reliable results.
  • Proactively share data, insights, and best practices to support optimal technical outcomes.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in both formal and informal settings.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline
  • At least one year of experience in a laboratory setting handling chemicals and equipment
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Experience in conducting Lab Safety Audits prior to conducting experiments or operating equipment
  • Good interpersonal skills and takes on new opportunities with enthusiasm
  • Able to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Communicates effectively by providing timely information on projects and testing
  • Basic computer skills, especially with Copilot, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain records/documents such as lab notebooks and/or instrument logs
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must have good dexterity & maintain focus on tasks
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to physically operate all equipment and instruments within the lab
  • Must have dexterity to handle small, delicate analytical lab equipment
  • Must be able to work in a chemical laboratory, which requires standing for 70% or more of the time
  • Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
