JOB DESCRIPTION JOB SUMMARY
The contract Automation Technologist is responsible for executing complex tasks under general supervision, focusing on device integration into automation applications for business units. The role includes providing ongoing support to automation host systems, troubleshooting, and ensuring data quality. The role serves as a technical expert in automation software, facilitating and driving complex automation projects, and collaborating with operations and facilities engineering. The role also involves mentoring, prioritizing, and completing concurrent automation projects, demonstrating extensive technical knowledge and championing data quality efforts while adhering to industry standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Performs moderately complex tasks under general supervision, supporting device integration into automation applications for business units, focusing on either automation software (field) or automation hardware (corporate).
• Provides ongoing support to automation host systems, conducting data analysis, database updates, and ensuring system uptime, including point-to-point checkout and d documentation.
• Performs device setup, troubleshoots alarms and hardware failures, and offers daily technical support, guidance, and expertise to operations.
• Maintains local historical data and records, supports and repairs data quality issues at the business unit level, collaborating with the local automation team.
• Works with operations, facilities engineering, and the local automation team to define and implement field automation solutions.
• Facilitates and drives automation projects to completion, designs and implements automation pilot projects, and develops and implements automation guidelines.
• Supports field operations in automation, seeks opportunities to add value through automation, and contributes to business value assessments for these opportunities.
• Collaborates with the automation team to identify strategic automation opportunities and provides automation support to Decision Support Centers (DSC).
• Engages in continuous improvement, recommends modifications, and effectively evaluates and recommends solutions to basic business and technical issues, demonstrating awareness and mentorship.
• Prioritizes, organizes, and completes multiple concurrent automation projects with ease, following established project management standards, and demonstrating proficiency in handling changing priorities and organizing work consistently.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering or any other related discipline and/or commensurate work experience is required.
• 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in E&P Operations specializing in areas such as Oilfield Automation, Instrumentation, Production Operations, Process Control Device Integration or a related field. Industry experience is preferred.
• Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) (preferred)
• Industrial Electrician (Red Seal Endorsement) (preferred)
• Instrumentation and Control Technician (Red Seal Endorsement) (preferred)
