NES Fircroft are supporting our valued client who are recruting a Senior XT Engineer on a 12-month contract based in their Perth office, with adhoc travel.

Are you an experienced subsea engineer ready to take on a pivotal role in advancing cutting-edge Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology? Join our dynamic Perth-based team as a Senior XT Engineer, where you will lead the delivery of subsea Xmas Tree systems from concept through installation and commissioning. This vital position offers the chance to shape innovative subsea engineering solutions within a collaborative, high-performance environment, including occasional domestic and international travel.
Required Skills:
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in subsea tree systems or related subsea production equipment engineering
  • Proven track record delivering XT, Wellhead, and Tubing Hanger systems through FEED, detailed design, manufacture, testing, installation, and commissioning phases
  • Strong knowledge of API 6A and API 17 series, with practical application of offshore and subsea standards
  • Experience managing interfaces with Facilities, Drilling, Completions, Suppliers, installation contractors, and Operations teams
  • Proficiency in equipment specifications, technical bid evaluation, Supplier engineering oversight, design reviews, manufacturing surveillance, FAT, EFAT, or System Integration Testing
  • Expertise in materials selection, qualification, and integrity for subsea pressure-containing and well barrier equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work across multidisciplinary, multicultural project teams
  • Commitment to HSE, technical integrity, project quality, and reliable delivery
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with all-electric subsea Xmas Tree systems
  • Familiarity with CCS service environments, downhole electrical interfaces, or new technology qualification
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Subsea, or equivalent Engineering discipline
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Proven ability to manage complex technical interfaces and multiple stakeholder relationships
Other Requirements:
  • Occasional domestic and international travel to vendor, site, or testing facilities as required
  • Strong safety culture with active participation in HSE initiatives and risk management
  • Capacity to work under pressure managing competing priorities and project deadlines
