Title: Business Solutions Developer
Location: Calgary, AB
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week
Contract length: 1 year

Position Summary:
This position sits within the Business Performance team in the Business Solutions department, focusing on the technical development and engineering of solutions that enable system, data, and process automation.

Job Description:
  • The successful candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong technical and programming capabilities, well-developed behavioral competencies, and experience in building and deploying solutions related to land and well data, analytics, and reporting.
  • This role requires advanced technical proficiency to execute development tasks, participate in technical reviews, and drive results, ensuring effective outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Responsible for building and implementing business process, system, and data automation initiatives through technical requirement documentation, solution design, development, testing, and deployment to business stakeholders.

Technical Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication, exceptional attention to detail, customer service orientation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet development milestones.
  • Advanced technical analysis capabilities, including solution design, data analysis, validation, unit testing.
  •  Experience with upstream Land and Well applications such as WellView, Siteview, CS Land, Execute, and StackDx.

Education/Experience Requirements:
  • MUST have relevant post-secondary education in computer science, petroleum, business analysis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • MUST have a minimum of 10 years of progressive oil and gas experience, or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
  • MUST have advanced technical skills in the following areas:
    • Power platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps)
    • Azure application development
    • Python scripting
    • Spotfire
