Buyer – Oil & Gas Projects (Netherlands)

NES Fircroft are currently recruiting Buyers on behalf of our client, a leader in floating technologies for the oil and gas industry.
This is an initial 12-month contract with possibility of extensions, based in the Rotterdam office. Mon-Fri , 40hrs per week supporting major offshore and onshore projects in the Netherlands.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for procuring materials, equipment, and services essential to project and operations delivery. You’ll manage negotiations, handle supplier relationships, and ensure everything arrives on time and within budget.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for procuring materials, equipment, and services essential to project and operations delivery. You’ll manage negotiations, handle supplier relationships, and ensure everything arrives on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Planning: Develop and execute procurement plans aligned with project requirements, schedules, and budgets.
- Supplier Sourcing: Identify, assess, and qualify suppliers in line with category management guidance, ensuring they meet expectations around cost, quality, and delivery.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate commercial terms and conditions, secure favourable agreements, and manage risks. Work closely with the Category Management team when required.
- Purchase Order Management: Create, issue, and administrate purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal procedures and technical specifications.
- Cost Control: Monitor spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure procurement activity stays within the approved budget.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement actions meet industry regulations, safety standards, and internal policies.
- Reporting: Provide clear and timely updates to project managers and key stakeholders on procurement progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Proven procurement experience within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proficiency with procurement systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Solid understanding of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven project environment.
