Position Summary
The CAD Designer is responsible for creating accurate and detailed CAD drawings that support engineering, manufacturing, sales, and field operations. This role develops erection, fabrication, and assembly drawings for both standard and custom projects. Working with limited supervision, the CAD Designer applies technical expertise, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality design solutions that support project execution and business objectives.

This role develops erection, fabrication, and assembly drawings for both standard and custom projects. Working with limited supervision, the CAD Designer applies technical expertise, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality design solutions that support project execution and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Drafting
- Create detailed erection drawings for standard and custom projects.
- Develop mechanical and manufacturing drawings to support production, warehouse, and installation activities.
- Ensure all drawings are accurate, complete, and compliant with engineering and drafting standards.
- Recommend practical and cost-effective design solutions that improve project efficiency and execution.
- Collaborate with engineers, project teams, production personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure design accuracy.
- Gather, review, and interpret project information required to complete drafting assignments.
- Maintain and update equipment lists and project-related documentation.
- Revise drawings and specifications based on project requirements and feedback.
- Work closely with warehouse and production teams to resolve assembly and fabrication issues.
- Troubleshoot design and installation challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Apply engineering principles, drafting standards, mechanical knowledge, and mathematical calculations to support project deliverables.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior designers and drafters when needed.
- Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to drafting best practices.
- Continuously expand technical knowledge and proficiency in design tools and engineering methods.
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, Construction Technology, or a related field.
- Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in CAD drafting, engineering support, design, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience producing technical drawings for manufacturing, construction, industrial, or engineering applications.
- Exposure to construction sites, field operations, or customer-facing project environments is preferred.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
- Ability to read, interpret, and create engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of engineering drafting standards and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of database systems and project documentation management.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.
