Chemist – Early Career Individual Contributor Role Overview The Chemist is an early‑career individual contributor responsible for supporting laboratory operations through hands‑on analytical work, data analysis, and method development. The role works closely with Specialists, mentors junior Chemists, and partners with First Line Supervisors to ensure laboratory instrumentation meets Safety, Quality, and Operational requirements. The Chemist plays a key role in troubleshooting analytical challenges, supporting operating units, and developing non‑routine testing methods. Active engagement and networking with site stakeholders is expected to build credibility and technical capability.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with OIMS requirements and site safety programs
- Maintain data integrity (DIAF) compliance and a working understanding of QP&G standards
- Develop and apply knowledge of quality‑assurance‑based analytical testing
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing and production issues using specialized analytical techniques
- Lead the development, validation, and improvement of laboratory test methods
- Build credibility in solving analytical problems by applying a broad range of laboratory techniques
- Own the selection, procurement, validation, maintenance, and removal of laboratory test equipment to meet operational and business needs
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Chemistry or a closely related field required
- Prior experience in a closely related analytical or laboratory role
- Strong understanding of laboratory instrumentation, analytical methods, and quality systems
- Demonstrated ability to apply sound business judgment and customer‑focused decision making
- Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving ability
- Adaptable with a willingness to learn and apply new technologies and methods
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across functions
- Demonstrates initiative, innovation, and applied learning
- Ability to mentor and support junior Chemists and technical staff
