Civil Project Engineer

3 month contract with immediate start
FIFO roster from Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle or regional NSW


Engage in civil and structural engineering activities on site predominantly focusing on mining conveyors and concrete footings, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a flexible FIFO contract role based from Sydney, Brisbane, or Newcastle with an initial three-month term and potential extension.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily site operations and supervise on-ground activities
  • Manage project specifications, documentation, budgets, and correspondence
  • Ensure availability of materials and resolve on-site issues effectively
  • Perform inspections and enforce quality control, especially for structural works on conveyors and concrete footings
  • Communicate regularly with clients, teams, and stakeholders
  • Prepare progress reports and address any concerns promptly

Must-Have Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil/structural project engineering
  • Strong knowledge of mining or heavy industry sectors
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse teams and clients
  • Proven reliability, self-motivation, and adaptability in challenging environments

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years’ field experience managing civil and structural engineering projects in mining or heavy civil construction
  • Experience working on capital projects in mining
  • Familiarity with FIFO work arrangements and site logistics
  • Competency in project management software and reporting tools
  • Hands-on experience with quality control and safety inspections
