Job Title: Civil Quality Assurance Inspector
Location: Kitimat, BC - FIFO
Length: Contracted to the end of 2026 to start
Rotation: TBD – Varying schedules currently being considered

Description:

The Client is seeking a Civil Quality Assurance Inspector to support construction and project execution activities. These roles will work closely with construction, engineering, quality, and contractor teams to monitor and verify civil works in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform field-based quality inspections of civil construction activities to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and approved work processes.
  • Monitor and support contractor Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and associated quality documentation.
  • Identify, document, and track non-conformances and support timely corrective actions.
  • Interface with construction, engineering, HSEQ, and project teams to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Support regulatory compliance and participate in internal and external audits as required.
  • Contribute to turnover, handover, and project close-out activities, ensuring quality records are complete and accurate.
  • Support Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) related to civil scope readiness.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Several years of relevant experience in quality inspection, construction, or engineering roles on large industrial, infrastructure, or energy projects.
  • Backgrounds in civil construction, quality, inspection, engineering, or construction management will be considered.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with contractor quality systems, NCR management, and field inspection reporting.
  • Familiarity with BC regulatory bodies (e.g., BCER, TSBC, WorkSafeBC, Transport Canada) is an asset.
  • Exposure to Safety Management Plans, risk-based inspection, or asset integrity frameworks is considered an asset.
  • Experience with marine facilities, offshore projects, or classification society certification is an asset but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a dynamic construction environment.
  • Safety-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in the field.
