Cladding Supervisor
Job title: Cladding Supervisor
Main Responsibilities:
Programme Execution
Know the daily and weekly programme activities for the cladding package, including the sequence by elevation or zone and any dates by which areas must be made weathertight for following trades.
Drive subcontractor productivity to meet or improve planned dates.
Confirm labour, materials, access equipment (MEWPs, scaffold, lifting) and permits each morning before work starts, and that MEWP operators hold a valid IPAF PAL card for the machine category.
Check the weather forecast against the RAMS and equipment limits before work at height or the lifting of cladding materials starts, and stop work where those limits are exceeded.
Attend the morning coordination meeting; confirm prior day's progress and identify blockers before they affect programme.
Labour & Productivity Monitoring
Verify daily manpower on the cladding package against plan.
Monitor scope progress (for example installed area by elevation or zone) achieved versus planned versus actual performance.
Coordination & Interfaces
Obtain approvals from adjacent trades (structural, civils, building services, mechanical, electrical, access) before proceeding with interfacing work. Cladding depends on the supporting structure, set-out and openings being complete and accepted, and its progress determines when following trades can work in weathertight areas.
Resolve access and sequencing conflicts with other disciplines directly at supervisor level, including shared use of MEWPs, scaffold and crane access.
Escalate unresolved clashes immediately. Do not hold conflicts pending resolution at your own level once they threaten programme, safety, quality or scope.
Cladding is listed as out of scope of the NAECI in SPA 3.2.1. Refer any query on employment terms, grading or labour relations affecting the package to the IR Manager rather than resolving it informally.
Evidence & Reporting
Capture dated progress photographs of cladding works daily, by elevation or zone.
Record daily issues, delays and their cause/impact/responsibility.
Witness and record the inspection points defined in the Inspection and Test Plan (for example substrate and support checks, fixing, sealing and weathertightness checks) as they occur, so quality records are captured progressively rather than retrospectively.
Submit an accurate daily site report covering: work areas active, scope completed, labour numbers, plant/equipment utilised, safety or technical issues, constraints or delays, and planned next-day activities.
Ensure all communication is written, traceable, timely, fact-based, and stored in the project record system, per the mandatory written-record categories (delay notifications, technical approvals, coordination agreements) that apply to this role.
Reporting to: Cladding Package Manager
Job requirements:
H&S Competences:
- SSSTS (in date)

Qualifications & Experience:

- Experience supervising cladding subcontractors on building envelope installation (for example profiled metal sheeting, composite or rainscreen panels) on a large construction project
- Experience supervising work at height and the lifting of cladding materials
- Able to read and work from cladding setting-out, shop and fixing drawings
