We are supporting a major energy infrastructure project in Brunsbüttel, Germany, and are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join the site team on a contract basis.
This is a fully site-based position, offering the opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of a high-profile industrial development. Working closely with project management, construction, procurement and contractor teams, the Commercial Manager will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of project execution and ensuring contractual and financial objectives are achieved.
Previous LNG experience is not essential but could be advantageous. Candidates with strong commercial management experience gained on large-scale infrastructure, industrial, energy, power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical, process plant, or major construction projects are encouraged to apply.

Working closely with project management, construction, procurement and contractor teams, the Commercial Manager will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of project execution and ensuring contractual and financial objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all commercial activities associated with project delivery.
- Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Evaluate and negotiate variations, change orders and commercial claims.
- Monitor project costs, commitments and forecasts.
- Support contractor and subcontractor commercial management.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks and exposures.
- Prepare commercial reports, cost forecasts and management updates.
- Review and certify payment applications and invoices.
- Work closely with project controls, procurement and construction teams.
- Support dispute avoidance and resolution activities where required.
- Ensure commercial processes and governance standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Law or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in a Commercial Manager position on major capital projects.
- Proven track record supporting projects during construction and execution phases.
- Strong understanding of EPC, EPCM and construction contract structures.
- Experience managing contractors and subcontractors within a site environment.
- Excellent knowledge of cost control, change management and claims administration.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
- Fluent English language skills.
- German or Spanish language capability would be advantageous but is not essential.
