Job Purpose
The Hook-Up and Commissioning (HUC) Process Lead will provide technical oversight and direction to EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors during offshore hook-up and commissioning phases. This role collaborates closely with the HUC team, Facilities, EPC Project Management Teams, and Operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all process-related activities.
The position ensures adherence to design standards, oversees FAT/SAT activities, validates technical deliverables, and supports asset readiness for handover to Operations. 🛠 Key Responsibilities

Job Purpose
The Hook-Up and Commissioning (HUC) Process Lead will provide technical oversight and direction to EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors during offshore hook-up and commissioning phases. This role collaborates closely with the HUC team, Facilities, EPC Project Management Teams, and Operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all process-related activities.
The position ensures adherence to design standards, oversees FAT/SAT activities, validates technical deliverables, and supports asset readiness for handover to Operations. 🛠 Key Responsibilities
Project & Technical Oversight
- Lead Process discipline activities for hook-up, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
- Review and approve contractor procedures, ensuring redlines are accurately documented.
- Participate in risk-based technical evaluations and verify deliverable compliance with project requirements and QELNG standards.
- Support change management for HUC execution strategies.
- Act as Commissioning focal point for discipline testing, FATs, SATs.
- Analyze contractor technical proposals, deviations, and exceptions.
- Monitor contractor manpower loading and provide recommendations or backfill where needed.
- Support project teams in meeting critical milestones (LLIs, equipment procurement, ROS dates).
- Witness contractor scope execution and sign-off on test sheets and checklists.
- Track EPC progress reporting and identify inconsistencies.
- Participate in quality audits, report findings, and propose corrective actions.
- Attend workshops and review meetings with EPC PMT and subcontractors.
- Apply lessons learned and share improvements across EPC packages.
- Support qualification of new suppliers not on the approved vendor list.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in large-project commissioning within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Minimum 1 year supervisory or vendor oversight experience.
- Strong background in Hook-Up & Commissioning processes and system completion.
- Expertise in Process design, technical evaluations, flow assurance, hydrostatic and nitrogen leak testing.
- Experience with gas turbine compressor performance testing.
- Deep understanding of codes, standards, engineering specifications, P&IDs, GA drawings, datasheets, and commissioning procedures.
- Experience working with major oil & gas operators or contractors.
- Familiarity with LNG‑related vendors (compressors, power generation, control systems, topsides).
