Commissioning Manager – Renewable Energy Projects
Location: Perth-based (regular site travel)
Rate: $150 – $170 per hour + Superannuation
Length: 12 Months (strong likelihood of extension)
The Role
A leading project delivery organisation is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to support the delivery of a growing portfolio of large-scale renewable energy and power infrastructure projects in Western Australia.
This role will take ownership of commissioning activities across multiple asset types and project stages, working closely with project delivery teams, contractors, OEMs and site-based personnel to ensure safe, structured and effective commissioning outcomes.
While Perth-based, this position requires regular travel to site during key stages of execution.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead commissioning activities across complex renewable energy and power infrastructure assets
- Develop and implement practical commissioning strategies aligned with project schedules
- Oversee readiness planning, energisation, testing, integration and handover activities
- Coordinate site commissioning teams, contractors and OEMs
- Ensure commissioning requirements are embedded into engineering, procurement and construction phases
- Support milestone delivery including first power, integrated testing and operational handover
- Drive strong safety, documentation and reporting standards throughout commissioning execution
Key Experience
- Significant commissioning experience within renewables, HV power systems or large-scale infrastructure
- Strong understanding of energisation, staged turnover and integrated testing
- Experience working across multiple stakeholders and delivery interfaces
- Ability to provide calm, structured leadership in dynamic site environments
- Background spanning wind, solar, BESS, substations or transmission projects highly regarded
