Hiring: Commissioning Manager | Mega Onshore Project | Qatar
Location: Doha / Ras Laffan, Qatar
Contract Type: Long-Term Contract
Work Schedule: 100% Onshore
Rotation: 12 Weeks ON / 2 Weeks OFF
Working Days: 6 Days per Week
Hours: 8–10 Hours per Day
Join one of the world's largest LNG development projects and play a critical leadership role in delivering safe and successful commissioning execution for the Mega Onshore Project.
Job Purpose
The Commissioning Manager is responsible for overseeing all commissioning activities executed by the EPC Contractor, ensuring compliance with Project requirements related to Safety, Health, Environment & Security (SHES), Welfare, Quality, Cost, and Schedule.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Promote and implement a strong safety culture through the "Ihtimam (We Care)" program across PMT, EPC Contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
✅ Align EPC Contractor commissioning teams with PMT commissioning teams and promptly resolve technical or relationship misalignments.
✅ Review, verify, and oversee approval of commissioning deliverables, procedures, and datasets to ensure compliance with project standards and specifications.
✅ Direct EPC Contractor commissioning execution as the primary PMT counterpart to ensure safe and efficient delivery of commissioning activities.
✅ Drive Advanced Work Packaging (Easy Suite) effectiveness by identifying project constraints, assessing risks, and ensuring mitigation measures are implemented.
✅ Allocate and manage PMT commissioning resources across multiple Project Delivery Teams within a matrix organization.
✅ Ensure consistency, technical compliance, and reporting quality across all commissioning areas.
✅ Lead commissioning meetings, establish objectives and agendas, facilitate discussions, and drive action closure.
✅ Manage interfaces with Operations Expansion & Startup (OES) teams to ensure seamless plant handover and operational readiness.
✅ Oversee Completion & Handover (Handover Dossiers) activities to support timely and quality system transfers.
✅ Support planning and execution of complex SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations) activities within Lot W8 during the final project phases.
Qualifications
✔ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences.
Experience Requirements
✔ Minimum 15 years of experience across engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities within large Oil & Gas projects.
✔ Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role managing commissioning teams, contractors, or service providers.
✔ Proven experience with large-scale LNG, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Energy projects.
✔ Experience in overall commissioning execution responsibility.
✔ Previous experience working with Major Operators, EPC Contractors, or Service Companies.
✔ Strong exposure to Brownfield Projects and SIMOPS environments.
✔ Experience managing projects involving large workforces and complex stakeholder interfaces.
Technical & Business Skills
✔ Strong knowledge of engineering codes, standards, specifications, and operating equipment within the Oil & Gas industry.
✔ Extensive experience in commissioning planning, execution, system completion, and plant start-up.
✔ Strong understanding of project execution, engineering, operations, pre-commissioning, and handover processes.
✔ Experience managing contract compliance, project schedules, and cost constraints.
✔ Advanced risk assessment and decision-making capabilities.
✔ Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
✔ Ability to thrive in large-scale, multicultural project environments.
