Construction Co-ordinator – Site-Based Role in Karratha (6-Month Contract)

Are you a skilled Construction Co-ordinator with a strong background in onshore plant construction, seeking a dynamic role in the heart of Karratha? Join a leading team delivering safe, cost-effective, and timely construction engineering solutions within the oil and gas sector. This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role managing fabrication and installation activities, coordinating across engineering disciplines, and ensuring the seamless execution of complex projects on a 2:1 roster with 10.5-hour days.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee engineering supervision and provide technical assistance at manufacturing, fabrication, and installation sites.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams and external stakeholders to maximize constructability and compliance with Group standards.
  • Prepare and manage documentation for bids, assessments, and subcontract awards related to site-based construction activities.
  • Monitor fabrication schedules, quality, and delivery of materials and components, ensuring alignment with project timelines.
  • Attend and contribute to technical meetings with clients, suppliers, and consultants to resolve fabrication and construction challenges.
  • Support management of change (MOC) processes on site and contribute to execution and delivery planning.
  • Prepare progress reports for project management and stakeholders, assisting with cost and schedule control.
Required Skills
  • Proven expertise in onshore plant construction within Australian oil and gas projects, especially brownfields execution.
  • Strong project control capabilities to proactively manage cost and schedule.
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English.
  • Computer literacy, with proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6 considered advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret and review engineering deliverables to ensure constructability and compliance.
Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary engineering teams in oil and gas or chemical processing sectors.
  • Familiarity with procurement and subcontract management processes.
  • Understanding of completions and site execution phases in construction projects.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a relevant trade qualification.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in engineering construction related to oil and gas or chemical processing industries.
  • Previous experience in construction engineering roles or managing fabrication activities is highly desirable.
Other Requirements
  • Commitment to 2:1 rotational roster on site in Karratha, working 10.5-hour shifts.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as project demands require.
  • Willingness to undertake professional development and training courses as part of continuous improvement.
