Job Title: Construction Coordinator
Location: Calgary or Edmonton, AB
Length: 1 year (with potential extension)
Rotation: 3 days in office (Mon/Tues/Thurs) and 2 days remote (Wed/Friday)
 
Role Summary:
Provides day‑to‑day coordination and digital workflow support to Construction Managers (CMs) to ensure field execution remains safe, compliant, and on schedule. Supports construction activities through documentation control, system administration, training coordination, and project support. May run low‑complexity projects or discrete work packages under CM oversight.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Construction Management Support
  • Maintain current construction plans, schedules, and scopes.
  • Apply lessons learned and support continuous improvement.
  • Triage stakeholder requests and manage third‑party system access.
  • Support CMs with routine coordination and field execution needs.
 
Digital Workflow Management
  • Assign task owners and due dates; track deliverables through stage‑gate progression.
  • Publish look‑ahead status updates and ensure data accuracy.
  • Onboard new users, resolve access issues, and provide basic training support.
  • Drive Kahua training communications and track completion for inspectors and CMs.
  • Issue QA reminders and coordinate coating form improvements with the Kahua team.
 
CloseOut & Documentation
  • Drive completion of as‑builts, checklists, and turnover artifacts.
  • Clear deficiencies and ensure documentation meets quality and compliance requirements.
  • Enter Management of Change (MOC) items, assign stakeholders, and follow actions to closure.
 
Meetings & Action Tracking
  • Coordinate meeting logistics, prepare agendas, and record minutes.
  • Maintain the action register and distribute decks, notes, and follow‑ups.
  • Co‑author weekly portfolio status updates.
 
Departmental & Administrative Support
  • Manage departmental meeting logistics and routine communications.
  • Track mandatory training requirements and maintain compliance records.
  • Maintain organizational charts, inspector databases, and Work Type Management Plans.
  • Distribute Active Dig Location KMZ updates to support field coordination.
 
Onboarding & Training Coordination
  • Coordinate system access for new inspectors (Kahua, Workday, etc.).
  • Assign mandatory Workday training in accordance with policy.
  • Track and monitor training completion to maintain full compliance.
  • Serve as a point of contact for onboarding questions and troubleshooting.
 
Project Support
  • Run low‑complexity projects or discrete project components with CM oversight.
  • Develop construction estimates and support planning activities.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Ensures construction workflows, documentation, and digital systems are maintained to organizational standards. Supports safe and compliant field execution by enabling CMs and inspectors with accurate information, timely updates, and effective coordination. Contributes to schedule adherence, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement across the construction portfolio.
 
Qualifications:
  • Post‑secondary education with experience in pipeline or station construction.
  • Minimum 4 years of related construction experience.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills using standards, modified standards, and prior experience.
  • Effective communicator capable of translating technical issues for diverse audiences.
 
Working Conditions:
 
Physical Requirements
Grasping, kneeling, light–moderate lifting (up to 45 lbs), reaching above shoulder height, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual acuity for screens and color coding, and adequate hearing for communication.
 
Knowledge Requirements
Ability to understand and apply written/oral instructions, collaborate on complex problems, organize information, prioritize short‑term workloads, make decisions with moderate impact, complete routine forms, prepare basic reports, and communicate professionally via phone and written correspondence.
