We are seeking an experienced Construction Engineer (Civil) to support civil engineering project delivery for a major energy operator in Queensland. This role is accountable for driving safety led outcomes and providing engineering support across planning, design, construction management, cost reporting and asset management activities. The position operates on a Monday to Friday roster, combining both office based engineering work and field based construction support, and is offered on an initial 12 month contract.

We are seeking an experienced Construction Engineer (Civil) to support civil engineering project delivery for a major energy operator in Queensland. The position operates on a Monday to Friday roster, combining both office based engineering work and field based construction support, and is offered on an initial 12 month contract.
Key Responsibilities
Safety, HSSE & Compliance
- Champion a safety first culture aligned with Goal Zero safety leadership
- Integrate HSSE and Sustainable Development principles into design, scheduling and execution of all works
- Ensure full compliance with Australian Standards, company procedures and civil construction best practice
- Actively promote HSSE leadership across contractors and project teams
- Provide civil construction engineering support to the Well Engineering and MDS teams
- Plan, design and manage delivery of civil construction project work
- Prepare and manage construction schedules in collaboration with field supervisors
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure value for money outcomes
- Manage civil construction contractors across a geographically dispersed operating area
- Roads and access infrastructure
- Well pads and hardstands
- Bulk earthworks and drainage
- Ponds, facilities and gravel pits
- Gravel material selection
- Civil construction plant and machinery utilisation
- Ensure Civil Construction Quality Assurance documentation is current and followed
- Manage ITPs, testing requirements, specifications and procedures
- Prepare tender and contract documentation for civil construction and Well Engineering scopes
- Support contract strategy development and contract management systems
- Implement and maintain project and financial control systems to track progress and costs
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including Asset, Environment, Cultural Heritage, Land Access, Social Performance and Operations teams
- Manage expectations and ensure alignment across multidisciplinary functions
- Identify risks to project delivery and implement effective mitigation measures
- Contribute to project strategy, execution plans and continuous improvement initiatives
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering
- Strong experience in civil construction within energy, resources or infrastructure environments
- Proven contractor management and project delivery capability
- Solid understanding of Australian Standards and civil construction best practices
- Strong HSSE leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work across office and field environments
