We are seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor – Roads & Civil to support onshore operations for a major energy operator in Queensland. This role is responsible for supervising contractors delivering access road maintenance and civil construction works, ensuring all activities are executed safely, efficiently, on budget and in full compliance with company, regulatory and land access requirements.
This is a site based role operating on a 14/14 roster with 12 hour days, offered on an initial 12 month contract.

We are seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor – Roads & Civil to support onshore operations for a major energy operator in Queensland. This role is responsible for supervising contractors delivering access road maintenance and civil construction works, ensuring all activities are executed safely, efficiently, on budget and in full compliance with company, regulatory and land access requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Safety, Compliance & HSSE
- Champion safety as the highest priority across all planning and execution activities
- Ensure full compliance with safety management systems, legislative requirements and company standards
- Conduct Advanced Safety Audits and contractor compliance audits
- Act as point of contact for incident reporting and participate in incident and accident investigations
- Lead contractor engagement to ensure clear understanding of safety expectations
- Attend contractor safety meetings and HSSE forums
- Track and close out safety actions in a timely manner
- Ensure equipment assurance programs and emergency response preparedness are in place
- Maintain documented records of key decisions and approvals
- Verify mandatory certification compliance across all construction teams
- Supervise contractors delivering access track maintenance and civil construction works
- Coordinate with Land Access to ensure landowner consent prior to property access
- Plan and execute maintenance and construction activities in line with approved schedules
- Ensure adequate contractor resourcing including personnel and equipment
- Provide technical advice and troubleshooting support for civil works
- Monitor contractor performance, technical integrity and value for money
- Prepare daily maintenance and construction reports
- Maintain regular communication with all site based teams
- Manage approved programs, variations and schedule updates
- Escalate key risks and issues to the Construction Lead and management
- Review contracts regularly to ensure fitness for purpose
- Roads and access tracks
- Well pads and hardstands
- Bulk earthworks and drainage
- Ponds, facilities and gravel pits
- Gravel material selection and civil maintenance techniques
- Civil construction plant and machinery utilisation
- Manage direct contractors and participate in performance reviews
- Ensure sufficient workforce coverage across all phases of work
- Support training matrix development and competency assurance
- Comply with all HR policies, procedures and reporting requirements
- Strong background supervising civil construction and road maintenance in resource or energy environments
- Proven experience managing contractors in high risk operational settings
- Solid working knowledge of civil construction techniques and machinery
- Strong HSSE leadership and audit experience
- Ability to work autonomously on site and manage competing priorities
