Role: Contracts Supervisor
Location: Algeria
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: 12‑month renewable
Rotation: 28 days on / 28 days off
I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Contracts Supervisor to support a large‑scale international oil & gas operation based in Algeria.
This is a senior, site‑based role on a 28/28 rotational assignment, responsible for overseeing the full contracts lifecycle and leading a team of Contract Engineers within a complex operating environment.
The role plays a critical part in ensuring contracting activities are executed efficiently, compliantly, and in line with internal governance, while supporting ongoing operations across multiple producing assets.
Key Responsibilities Include:
✔ Overseeing and streamlining all aspects of the contracts process, from tendering and contract award through to post‑award administration
✔ Leading and supporting a team of 5 Contract Engineers, ensuring processes are followed and issues are resolved efficiently
✔ Driving continuous improvement of Contract Award and Contract Management processes and procedures
✔ Preparing, issuing, reviewing, and evaluating supplier and tender documentation
✔ Reviewing and auditing supplier contracts and documentation for compliance
✔ Actively pushing for timely closure of contracting activities across the department
✔ Managing a portfolio of high‑value, complex contracts
✔ Supporting negotiations and resolving contractual and commercial issues
✔ Owning and reporting on Contracts Department metrics, including open requisitions and cycle‑time performance
✔ Supporting activities related to internal contract approval committees
✔ Streamlining departmental activities through improved techniques and best practices
✔ Acting as a key interface between end users and contractors during contract administration
✔ Supporting the ongoing SAP implementation, with the opportunity to become a trainer for the wider team
Required Experience & Skills:
🔹 Degree in Business, Law, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
OR an Engineering / Technical degree with significant Supply Chain or Contract Management experience
🔹 Strong all‑round Supply Chain and Contract Management background
🔹 Solid working knowledge of international oilfield vendors
🔹 Minimum 10 years’ experience in Contract Management within large, international, complex supply chains
🔹 Previous international experience preferred, ideally within North Africa or the Middle East, including remote or site‑based assignments
🔹 Proven experience in team leadership, mentoring, and coaching
🔹 Fluent English (French and/or Arabic language skills are a strong advantage)
🔹 Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all organisational levels
