We are seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join a major site-based capital program. This role plays a key part in delivering accurate cost and schedule reporting, supporting project performance, and enabling informed decision-making across a portfolio of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain cost control systems, budgets, and forecasts across the capital portfolio
  • Track committed, actual, and forecast costs against approved budgets
  • Identify cost trends and deviations, ensuring early visibility of risks
  • Support development of project cost estimates where required
  • Monitor project schedules, milestones, and critical paths
  • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) tools (CPI, SPI) to measure performance
  • Ensure alignment between schedules, forecasts, and approved baselines
  • Prepare regular portfolio reports, including weekly and monthly updates
  • Provide clear analysis of cost and schedule performance to stakeholders
  • Highlight variances and work with teams to drive corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with project controls processes, standards, and approvals
  • Monitor phase gate budgets and workflow processes
  • Track and report change notifications impacting scope, cost, and schedule
  • Maintain variation and change registers
  • Assess cost and schedule impacts of project changes
  • Review contractor invoices, claims, and variations
  • Support cash flow forecasting and financial tracking
  • Assist with project close-out and asset capitalisation activities
About You
  • Proven experience in project controls, cost control, or program controls within large capital projects
  • Strong understanding of cost management, forecasting, and scheduling tools (e.g. Primavera P6, EVM)
  • Experience working in complex industrial or construction environments
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and influence outcomes
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
