The Crisis Response Lead is an important role providing day to day interface with Crisis & ER resources, delivering high quality output in support of effective risk management and crisis & emergency preparedness within the business. This incorporates all aspects of crisis and continuity management and tactical preparedness to ensure full compliance with the defined practices of the Joint Venture and in country regulatory requirements.

This will be a UK based role with up to 25% travel requirements.

Accountabilities

Lead the design and overall delivery of the crisis, emergency planning and business continuity programme for the Business which includes but is not limited to:
 
  • Development and management of a crisis, emergency planning and business continuity programme that meets GDP and Regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting the development plans and procedures in line with the Group Defined Practice including:
    • Business Support Plans.
    • Incident Management Plans.
    • Emergency Response Plans.
    • Emergency Response Bridging Arrangements.
    • Business Continuity Plans.
    • Other supporting plans.
  • Design & deliver crisis, emergency planning and business continuity training Programmes to the business.
  • Mentoring of individuals within the business and projects to build crisis, emergency planning and business continuity competency in the line, including local nationals
  • Ensuring that sufficient competent personnel are available to support responses through effective roster management.
  • Build and maintain beneficial relationships with stakeholders appropriate to the role both internally and externally i.e.
    • Cross functional relationships
    • Contractor entities and their equivalent functions
    • Emergency services & government level resilience functions
    • Industry peers through mutual aid forums and working groups.
  • Through participation in Risk Reviews, determine those risks and impacts which require the development of continuity strategies, mitigation and plans for the business & projects and develop the necessary gap closure plans.
  • Influence and guide the leadership on all aspects of crisis, emergency planning and business continuity management. 
  • Provide technical expert advice in response to requests, to communicate good practice to Joint Venture Partners, to communicate high value learnings, or to communicate plans to closure of gaps in compliance or conformance.
  • Lead the design, execution, and provision of the necessary support for all levels of exercises/drills which may include participation by external parties.
  • Provide regular health of discipline reports to the Business and NOJV’s & Renewable Energy team as required.
  • Actively participate in any relevant response team during an incident to provide technical expertise during a response.
  • Lead on procurement activities for crisis and emergency response equipment
  • Undertake gap assessments of in country emergency response capability and infrastructure, including fire response.
  • Deliver post incident response reviews.
  • Participate in post incident investigations as required.

Qualifications & Core Competencies
  • Degree or equivalent is desirable, but not essential for those with the appropriate level of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management in hazardous industries & utilities in high-risk locations.
  • Strong demonstrable experience in incident management & response including at the tactical level.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable Criteria
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in C&CM activities, preferably in frontier environments.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing Crisis Management Systems including Incident Command System, tiered Response models, Business Continuity Programmes and delivery of associated training programmes.
  • Proven track record of communicating, working and influencing effectively across several geographical, cultural and business boundaries, at various levels of an organization including senior leaders.
