Position: Day Foreman (Lead Operator) – 1st Class Power Engineer
A 1st Class Power Engineer is required to support the successful operation of a major sour gas processing facility located in northwest Alberta.
The Day Foreman (Lead Operator) will work a 4×3 schedule, Tuesday–Friday, days.

The Day Foreman (Lead Operator) will work a 4×3 schedule, Tuesday–Friday, days.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to Gas Plant Operators
- Ensure tasks and job functions are current, accurate, and effective
- Oversee all plant processes and process changes
- Ensure employees follow safety protocols and regulatory reporting requirements (incidents, near misses, hazard IDs, etc.)
- Support and align with maintenance procedures and Management of Change processes
- Review and complete plant inspections
- Promote and model a safety‑focused work environment
- Ensure all required sampling is completed
- Review and maintain steam and operator logs required by ABSA and AER
- Review invoicing and support expenditure control
- Assist in budget creation with management
- Collaborate with Engineering on Management of Change requirements and programming-related updates
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must hold an ABSA 1st‑class steam ticket, or a 2nd‑class with significant progress toward a 1st
- 10–15+ years of experience working in a gas plant environment
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Natural gas compression
- Gas sweetening
- Refrigeration
- Sulphur recovery
- Condensate stabilization
- Steam generation
- Water treatment systems
- Experience with Emerson Delta‑V automation systems is an asset
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational and adaptability skills
- Proficient with MS Office
- Familiar with plant operations, procedures, and work order systems
- Familiarity with SCADA-related programs is an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
