Director, Midstream Operations

Our client, a rapidly growing EPC and infrastructure services organization, has a permanent opportunity for a Director, Midstream Facilities to be based in Houston, TX with travel throughout the United States. 

This leadership role will oversee large-scale midstream operational programs and capital projects, driving execution excellence, financial performance, and strategic growth across a diversified asset portfolio. The Director provides strategic leadership, ensures alignment with safety and quality standards, and partners with senior leadership to drive organizational growth while strengthening client and stakeholder relationships.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic direction for midstream operational programs and major project initiatives, ensuring delivery that meets safety, schedule, budget, and performance expectations.
  • Establish clear organizational goals, responsibilities, and accountability frameworks to support effective team performance.
  • Oversee project planning, budgeting, procurement, scheduling, execution, and closeout for multi‑phase operational or infrastructure initiatives.
  • Manage contractual obligations, change processes, claims, and risk mitigation strategies to protect financial and operational outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and partnership‑oriented engagement.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities to expand services and enhance market positioning within the midstream sector.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, promoting a culture of operational excellence.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams through training, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align strategies, optimize resources, and deliver integrated organizational solutions.
Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Operations, or related technical field.
  • 10 + years of progressive leadership holding roles such as Superintendent, Manager or Director in midstream operations, infrastructure project management, or complex capital project environments.
  • Experience advising and supporting midstream capital projects including but not limited to gathering facilities, terminals, etc. 
  • Strong background in project scoping, estimating, cost and schedule control, design oversight, construction management, procurement, and resource planning.
  • Field experience supporting or supervising midstream assets and infrastructure, or comparable operational systems.
  • Demonstrated success in client relationship management and business development.
  • Experience advising project construction, subcontractors, ensuring work is within scope and budget.
  • Financial acumen, responsible for overseeing annual profitability, revenues, and holding budget accountability.

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to travel 30-35% for project oversight, site visits, and client engagement within the United States. 
  • Must comply with all organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work extended or non‑standard hours based on operational and project demands.
  • Routine exposure to project sites, field operations, and varied environmental conditions.
