Job Summary The Drafter III supports the design and engineering team by producing, updating, and maintaining technical drawings. This role focuses on incorporating redline markups, supporting document control processes, and ensuring drawings meet established drafting standards. The position requires strong AutoCAD skills and the ability to work both in an office and refinery/industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Revise and update drawings based on redlines from designers and technicians using AutoCAD
  • Incorporate management-of-change (MOC) updates to support document control
  • Perform general drafting and drawing maintenance for the design team
  • Participate in field walkdowns to verify design accuracy and conditions
  • Ensure drawings comply with drafting standards, methods, and best practices
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering, design, and project teams
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in a drafting role (years of experience commensurate with a senior/level III position)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent drafting software
  • Strong understanding of drafting standards, methods, and practices
  • Ability to work safely in both office and industrial/refinery environments
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
  • Strong work ethic with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a similar role within an industrial environment (e.g., refining, petrochemical, or related industries)
  • Experience with document control processes
  • Familiarity with industry-related engineering workflows
Software & Computer Skills Required:

  • AutoCAD (or similar CAD software)
  • Basic computer and PC skills
  • Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred:

  • Experience with engineering or asset management systems (e.g., design or maintenance software)
