The Drilling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily drilling operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of well programs. The successful candidate will provide leadership to field personnel and contractors while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory, safety, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise all drilling operations at the rig site
  • Ensure operations are conducted safely and in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate activities between drilling contractors and third-party service providers
  • Monitor performance, costs, and daily progress against the drilling program
  • Review and approve daily drilling reports
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example in the field
  • Support incident investigations and corrective action implementation
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 8–10 years of drilling experience, with supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of drilling operations, equipment, and well control
  • Experience in oil sands or heavy oil operations considered an asset
  • Valid well control certification (IWCF or equivalent)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a remote camp environment
