NES Fircroft are delighted to be working with a client who are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to support commissioning activities on a data centre project in Dublin.
Position will be contract based to work Monday – Friday for an initial 12 months duration. Day rate on offer is negotiable depending on experience.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring electrical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned safely and in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring electrical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned safely and in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret commissioning plans, procedures, and documentation for electrical systems to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Support and execute commissioning activities for a range of electrical infrastructure, ensuring systems are tested thoroughly and safely.
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of:
- Switchgear
- UPS systems
- Electrical switching procedures
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical issues that arise during the commissioning phase.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project engineers, contractors, and project managers.
- Ensure all commissioning activities are delivered in line with health & safety standards, quality expectations, and project timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of testing, commissioning results, and issue resolution.
- Participate in system walkthroughs, inspections, and handover processes.
- Proven experience working as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer.
- Previous data centre or mission critical experience is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure and commissioning processes.
- Hands-on experience with:
- LV/MV switchgear systems
- UPS systems and backup power infrastructure
- Safe electrical switching procedures
- Experience in reviewing/testing commissioning documentation and procedures.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently under pressure.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Relevant electrical engineering qualification (Degree, HNC, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with Irish or European electrical standards and regulations.
- Experience working on large-scale construction or data centre projects.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
