Job Title: Electrical Construction Manager

Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Construction Site Manager, this role supports project planning and on-site construction activities while ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across all project phases. You will oversee contractor performance, support risk mitigation efforts, and ensure adherence to QA/QC and HSE standards to deliver projects efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
  • Support the project team during pre-construction, including the development of the project execution plan, project configuration, engineering design progress, and construction and procurement contracting.
  • Contribute to the preparation of on-site construction QA/QC plans, inspection forms, and reporting tools.
Site Management
(Reporting to the Site Construction Manager)
  • Supervise and inspect daily contractor activities to ensure efficient workflow and alignment with project plans.
  • Monitor progress and assist with the implementation of risk mitigation measures.
  • Ensure contractor and supplier compliance with construction contracts and agreements.
  • Participate, as required, in project energization and commissioning activities.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
  • Monitor contractor and supplier activities to ensure alignment with HSE policies, procedures, and project-specific plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations.
Quality Assurance & Quality Control
  • Monitor, document, and report defects or non-conformities in accordance with QA/QC plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Oversee testing activities to ensure compliance with procedures and technical requirements.
Risk Management
  • Identify, monitor, and report potential risks. Escalate emergencies or unexpected issues promptly to minimize project impacts.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the construction and/or management of solar, wind, or BESS projects.
  • College diploma, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy and utility interconnection construction.
  • Experience working on large, complex, multidisciplinary projects with contractor and supplier interfaces.
  • EPC experience is an asset.
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team; proactive and energetic approach.
  • Strong decision-making skills with a focus on project and organizational priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) required to collaborate with stakeholders across different regions.
