Electrical Project Engineer – SCADA & Controls
Perth, WA | 12‑month contract | $80–$120 per hour + super
A long‑term contract opportunity for an Electrical Project Engineer with strong SCADA and control systems experience, working on one of Australia’s largest renewable and transmission programmes. You’ll be supporting complex power infrastructure projects, from design through commissioning, in a fast‑moving delivery environment.
This is a hands‑on role, working closely with contractors, designers and operations teams, where things move quickly and no two weeks look the same.

Contract & Benefits

- $80–$120 per hour + superannuation (depending on experience)
- Up to 45 hours per week
- Perth‑based role with site exposure as required
- Strong chance of contract extension
In this Electrical Project Engineer position, you’ll focus on SCADA, control systems and substation / generation interfaces across renewable and transmission assets. The work is project based and delivery focused.
Key areas include:
- Managing SCADA and control system work packages across power and renewable projects
- Leading design development for RTU, HMI, SCADA and communications systems
- Coordinating contractors to ensure programme, quality and safety targets are met
- Supporting FAT, commissioning and acceptance testing activities
- Working closely with engineering, operations and project delivery teams to integrate control systems into live assets
You’re comfortable working in complex power environments and taking ownership of technical delivery.
- Background in electrical, control systems or automation engineering
- Solid experience with SCADA, RTU, HMI and control system architecture
- Exposure to power utilities, substations or generation assets
- Confident managing contractors and interfacing across disciplines
- Able to interpret requirements and produce functional design documentation
