As an Electrical & Controls Assembly Technician, you will support the assembly and wiring of gas turbine and compressor packages. Your day begins with a project briefing to align on goals, priorities, and safety protocols. You will interpret drawings, prepare materials, verify component quality, and perform hands‑on electrical and mechanical assembly work. This role requires strict adherence to safety, precision, and production standards.

Job Summary
As an Electrical & Controls Assembly Technician, you will support the assembly and wiring of gas turbine and compressor packages. Your day begins with a project briefing to align on goals, priorities, and safety protocols. You will interpret drawings, prepare materials, verify component quality, and perform hands‑on electrical and mechanical assembly work. This role requires strict adherence to safety, precision, and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and apply electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings (English & metric).
- Assemble, wire, test, and troubleshoot electrical equipment including:
- Control panels
- Conduit systems
- Cable trays
- Wire terminations
- Perform electrical work on rotating equipment packages (gas turbines & compressors).
- Work with components such as:
- Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
- Fire & Gas systems
- Generator control systems
- Vibration monitoring instrumentation
- Apply NEC, IEC, and standards related to hazardous & intrinsically safe areas.
- Operate and maintain hand tools, air‑powered tools, torque wrenches, measuring equipment, and shop machinery.
- Document and chart test results per production and turbine engine assembly requirements.
- Communicate with Engineering, Quality Control, Parts, and Management teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Maintain accurate production files, records, and quality documentation.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with all safety procedures.
- Work independently or collaboratively depending on project needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED OR 10+ years of relevant industrial electrician experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical assembly, control panel wiring, or rotating equipment manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
- Knowledge of electrical components (breakers, disconnects, starters, relays, overloads, timers, etc.).
- Proficiency with wire sizes from 18 AWG to 1/0 AWG.
- Skilled in hand tools (screwdrivers, wire strippers, crimpers, cutters), air‑driven tools, and torque wrenches.
- Ability to consistently lift up to 45 lbs.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Organized work habits and ability to maintain clean workspaces.
- Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
