ACTUAL TITLE: Advisor – Industrial Energy Solutions
DURATION: 1 year with a potential for extension
LOCATION: Stoney Creek ON
Hybrid Model: In-Office (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday), Remote (Wednesday & Friday)
Eligibility: Applicants must be Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents, or holders of a valid Open Work Permit.


Travel requirements: This role is a mix of office based (75%) and field based (25%) and requires travelling mainly within Ontario including overnight. Travel is within the Niagara Region approximately twice per week; some travel to Toronto or Leamington Ontario less frequently.

Valid driver’s license with a responsible driving record is needed and access to their own vehicle or rentals when needed.

What You'll Do

As a member of the Energy Conservation DSM Industrial Team, you will work closely with a diverse portfolio of agricultural and greenhouse customers across Ontario. You'll gain exposure to a wide range of facilities and processes while helping customers better understand their energy use and identify opportunities for improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building trusted, long-term relationships with customers and becoming their preferred energy efficiency advisor.
  • Analyzing facility operations and identifying opportunities to reduce energy consumption and improve performance.
  • Developing technical analyses and energy savings calculations to support project business cases and investment decisions.
  • Communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Managing multiple customer projects and priorities while delivering against annual program targets.
  • Working independently to manage your customer portfolio while collaborating closely with colleagues to achieve team objectives.
  • Continuously identifying new opportunities and building a sustainable pipeline of energy efficiency projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for membership with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • Energy management certification (e.g., Certified Energy Manager) is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in process engineering, project engineering, continuous improvement, technical consulting, or a related industrial environment.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid role with approximately 50% office-based work and 50% field-based work.
  • Regular travel throughout Ontario is required, including occasional overnight travel.
  • A valid driver's license and responsible driving record are required.
