Hiring: Engineering Lead (Electrical – Power Supply) | Doha, Qatar

Join a major LNG megaproject in Qatar and play a key role in leading Electrical Engineering activities across design, procurement, installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases.

📍 Location: Doha - Ras Laffan, Qatar
📄 Contract Type: Long-Term Contract
🏗️ Work Schedule: 100% Onshore
🔄 Rotation: 12 Weeks ON / 2 Weeks OFF
📅 Working Days: 6 Days per Week
Working Hours: 8-10 Hours per Day

🔹 Job Purpose The Engineering Lead (Electrical – Power Supply) will be responsible for overseeing all Electrical Engineering activities related to a major LNG project, ensuring full compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and company requirements.

The role will provide technical leadership to EPC contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and stakeholders while ensuring safe and efficient delivery of large-scale power generation and distribution systems throughout the project lifecycle.

🔹 Key Responsibilities
✅ Lead and oversee Electrical Engineering design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up activities.

✅ Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, regulations, and technical requirements.

✅ Provide technical guidance and support to EPC contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.

✅ Review and evaluate electrical simulations, power system studies, and optimization activities.

✅ Support design and integration of:

  • HV/MV/LV Electrical Systems
  • Power Generation Systems
  • Power Management Systems (PMS)
  • Electrical Integrated Control Systems (ELICS)
  • Transformers
  • Switchgear
  • Large Motors (40MW+)
  • VFD Systems
✅ Review electrical equipment purchase orders and vendor documentation.

✅ Monitor project progress and electrical engineering deliverables to ensure milestones are achieved.

✅ Assess technical risks and provide solutions to complex electrical engineering challenges.

✅ Support construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and performance testing activities.

✅ Coordinate electrical interfaces with external stakeholders including utilities, licensors, and power suppliers.

✅ Develop and update electrical engineering philosophies, specifications, standards, and procedures.

✅ Participate in change management reviews and recommend recovery plans when required.

🔹 Qualifications
🎓 Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

🔹 Experience Required
✔ Minimum 8 years of Electrical Engineering experience

✔ Minimum 4 years of experience within the Oil & Gas industry

✔ Minimum 1 year in a supervisory, acting leadership, or contractor oversight role

✔ Experience supporting EPC projects

✔ Preferred experience on major LNG projects

✔ Experience with large-scale industrial power systems and high-voltage networks
