NES Fircroft is currently seeking an Environmental Officer to join a major resources operation in Northern Australia. This contract opportunity has arisen to provide support to an established environmental team and is ideal for an environmental professional looking for an immediate start.
This is a hands-on, field-based position focused on environmental monitoring, inspections and reporting across a large-scale operational site.

This is a hands-on, field-based position focused on environmental monitoring, inspections and reporting across a large-scale operational site.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental monitoring and field inspections across site
- Collect and record environmental data in accordance with site requirements
- Travel between operational areas and monitoring locations
- Assist with environmental compliance activities and site audits
- Prepare environmental reports and documentation
- Maintain accurate environmental records and databases
- Support the Environmental Team with day-to-day operational activities
- Utilise ArcGIS for mapping, data management and reporting purposes
- 3+ years' experience in an environmental role within mining, resources, infrastructure or a related industry
- Experience undertaking field-based environmental monitoring activities
- Proficient in ArcGIS (essential)
- Strong written communication and report writing skills
- Comfortable working independently in remote field environments
- Current Australian Driver's Licence (essential)
- Relevant environmental qualification preferred
- Previous experience working within mining or heavy industry environments
- Experience working on remote operational sites
- Ability to mobilise from Darwin, Cairns or other major Australian centres
- Immediate start available
- 6–12 month contract opportunity
- Attractive day rate
- 4/3 roster (Monday–Thursday)
