Federal Telecommunications Engineer
Rate: Starts at $50/hr
Schedule: 40-hours per week
Contract Type: 6-months (Temp-to-perm)
Location: Onsite- 5 days/week in Overland Park, KS 66251 / Denver, CO / Arlington, VA / Dallas, TX (depends on candidate location)

In this role, you will perform the following:
- Lead communication designs and coordinate with other disciplines
- Create conceptual and detailed systems designs, including producing design drawings, specifications and design analysis deliverables
- Coordinate with a BIM/CAD team for drawing production
- Perform quality control duties and independent technical reviews
- Manage assigned budgets, scopes and schedules
- Mentoring and providing guidance/instruction to less experienced staff members
- As part of this role, you will be assigned to projects supporting U.S. Government Agency/Department clients.
- Perform fieldwork and write assessment reports
- Assist with creation of design guides and templates
- Provide support to business development or pursuit activities
- Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, BICSI industry standards, codes and best practices related to the design of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), low voltage, and telecommunications systems
- Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification (required)
- Certified Technology Specialist-Design (CTS-D) certification (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems from a safety and constructability perspective
- Strong knowledge of inside plant (ISP) cabling infrastructure to include telecommunications spaces and pathways, copper, and optical fibre cabling and connectivity
- Experience in outside plant (OSP) design of copper and fibre optic communication systems
- Experience in audio-visual (AV) system design
- 4+ years of experience designing applicable telecommunication systems
- Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
